Mike O’Connor ( Craic Head Mike ) is originally from the Bronx N.Y. and now lives on Long Island . His Father Brendan was an Irish entertainer and Mike was born on St. Patricks Day. So you could say he has been listening to Irish music his whole life. His musical taste ranges from Irish to Rock to Punk to New Wave to Reggae to Rock-a-Billy and Classical. He is a Dead Head and Die Hard Zappa Fan. In the late 80’s he got into video taping bands for the Great Bridal expo and started his own wedding video business Sunshine Video. His love of music made taping bands more fun. He is an avid photographer as well as videographer. In 2008 he started the Dartheadmike youtube channel and now has over 250 videos on it with over 450,000 views. In December of 2010 he did his first Blogtalk Radio show and SOME GOOD CRAIC was born !!! Mike plays a little Mandolin, Bodhran and Bouzouki … very little. Not the musician he wishes he could be, Mike has a knack for songwriting. His first song “Paddys Day NYC” was recorded by Bangers and Mash and has been getting airplay around the country during the high holy season of St. Patricks Day. The song finished on Larry Kirwan’s Celtic Crush radio show’s top 100 songs of 2018 at number 7 !!! Mike will be heading to the studio soon to record 6 of his original songs. Stay Tuned in 2020 !

Jon Gillespie (Jonny Ra ) hails from the North of Ireland . He spent 25 years as a security services specialist for the Sinn Fein party of Ireland and now lives in Vermont. By chance meeting at the Blackthorne Resort Jon met Mike O’Connor who was looking for something to add to his radio show Some Good Craic. Mike asked Jon if he would be interested in doing some kind of segment on the show. And that is when Jon came up with The News From The Emerald Isle That’ll Make Ya Smile ! It was an instant hit with the fans. Witty, Serious or Political Jon had the delivery that Mike was looking for. He has been part of Some Good Craic since SHOW 39 and continues to deliver the Craic each and every show . When not playing Bodhran and singing with the Internationally acclaimed Ryan’s Irish Band , Jon enjoys fishing with the love of his life Kris who is often by his side during his news segments. Jon has also performed with The Gobshites and Gully Boys.
